I love hot weather, I live in Iowa, very cold winters-it’s a dilemma!
What makes me smile and feel exhilarated? Walks on the beach-preferably barefoot, the ocean, orchids, quiet/serene time, smooth jazz, sounds of laughter, driving fast (shhh- dont tell) with my sun roof fully open and music turned full volume, curl your toes kissing and most of all my beautiful wonderful children!
I enjoy other cultures. I grew up in Des Moines, IA in a predominantly Caucasian neighborhood/environment. I learned early in life people will most often embrace those who are comfortable with themselves, in spite of our external differences. I am an introspective person, I believe one must have inner strength and appreciate the importance of living in the moment.

What are you looking for in a partner?
I am looking for a man who takes initiative, comfortably makes decisions, desires to love and protect and yet, allows me to be my own person, welcomes my ideas and thoughts; has eyes for only me! Does not feel uncomfortable with a chatty woman who speaks her mind, politely challenges, and desires to be treated like a princess. I like a man to show a modicum of affection in public, not take himself and others to seriously, play hopscotch with me occasionally (my fav. childhood game), read books as we lay next to each other, discuss a bit, then wrap me in his arms and off to wonderland we go. Did I mention that being drop-dead gorgeous, very sensual, funny, and fiscally sound - would be terrific. Hey, it's My Own Words-right :-)

I'd just like to add...
I am a Clinical Director of a Behavioral Health Program, I have been in this position for over 25 years. I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Human Development and a PhD in parenting! I also teach at our local university as well as local community college;communicating with/teaching others energizes me, it is my passion to create a learning environment whereby my teaching evokes thought and a hunger to learn more. I firmly believe in the importance of treating others with respect and dignity; standing in judgment of others limits one’s ability to blossom.
I enjoy shopping, reading, jogging! art museums, dining out, jazz concerts, operas, & symphony-music feeds my soul!!! Nothing better than spending time with my three children, 23, 18, and 17. My son is a senior in high school, 18 y/o daughter just entered our local university and oldest daughter has graduated from college and lives out of state. I love to play word games and yes, cleaning house. I have a precious Maltese, named Miles :-)
